Free Parking after 5pm in Newcastle!

Newcastle NE1, the Business Improvement District for Newcastle City Centre, have been organising some big changes around the Newcastle City Centre over the past few years. One of their biggest projects has been the Alive after Five initiative which encouraged businesses to stay open later, benefiting those that work nine to five. Since beginning in 2010 the scheme has introduced permanent late night opening in shops around Newcastle with shops staying open till 8pm on weekdays and 7pm on Saturdays!

Where is there free parking in Newcastle?

To help accommodate the shops opening later NE1 has teamed up with Newcastle City Council to offer free parking in all council ran multi-storey car parks after 5pm from Monday to Saturday. So if you’re heading in to town after work forget scrambling around the car for your change and just head to a council ran multi storey car park.
